Pros
Opportunities to match or exceed your base pay through tips. Most often, I made way more in tips. I loved the customers. You get a little extra through commission but not worth the hassle at all. Sometimes it was a really fun work environment.
Cons
I was not fond of the hours for me personally. You are never guaranteed two days off together. In fact, that was super rare. Hard for families, great if you are young. Fast money. It's not meant to be a real career for the long haul or for growing a family. Turnover was ridiculous so there was always an "emergency". There is nowhere to really go after manager, so no potential to grow more than that. For what it is, it's fine. It serves its purpose as long as you know what that purpose really is.
