Pros

Pension, 401K, Credit Union Auto Loan Rates

Cons

No alternative work schedules like 9x80 or 4x10, micromanaging, poor morale, can be difficult to take time off, no opportunity for advancement as a HR Support Specialist in HR, you have a laptop but cannot work from home ever, very slow to change, you submit continuous improvement ideas and they are disregarded, executive does not listen to 1st line employees, EOM (Excellence of Operational Management) is not be used in it's true sense/intentions, first line leaders have no flexibility to lead their team as they see fit, no transparency, as a fortune 50 company the technology is not up to par, HR Reps are there to back the leaders and not the employees, no cost of living adjustments, it's indicated the company has a "pay for performance" philosophy but it doesn't feel like it, monetary recognition is lacking, annual review/salary increase does not keep up with the cost of living, the PTO system is not commensurate for 20 year employees, the annual select a gift options have drastically changed for the worse, there is no employee appreciation activity, the design of the workspace is not conducive to concentrating low to no cubicle walls lets the noise travel, due to the size of the company you feel like just a number, management doesn't have the courage to address the problem individually-they deal with it as a "team"

Pros

(At the time) Fair pay and predictable bonus structure They were pretty good at covering travel expenses and paying them back quickly Diverse workforce & diversity initiatives Fun and funny coworkers Opportunities for growth Again, this was all four years ago and has likely changed

Cons

(At the time and now, according to other comments) Arrogant to a fault Total lack of innovation & willingness to innovate Odd attachment to the company's past (which prevents progress) High number of veterans (20+ years) who are determined to get that retirement money, and therefore, are resistant to change and technology Heavy reliance on command and control management style Poor decision-making that leads to losses of all kinds
