Pros

Struggling to find any ...

Cons

- Terrible pay, management and hiring managers aware they are paying 30% below market rate and continue to do so, openly take advantage of people - Non functioning product - claim to have great tech but the tech doesn't work, management aware and have deprioritised fixing it and gotten rid of the product team, basically just makes them a funding brokerage rather than a marketplace / tech company - Bad culture - no one wants to help eachother or socialise - Bad offices - not a productive environment - Recently laid off a significant proportion of staff and management handled it terribly and had no comms until a brief mention a month later - Really bad communication throughout the business - No understanding of people's personal lives / work life balance

Pros

-Flexible working location. -Good progression for sales team, unsure for other departments. -Good for a first job or foray into finance. Would not recommend for a long term career.

Cons

-Secretive, toxic culture. -Processes and 'best practices' change on an almost daily basis, no consistency across the company whatsoever. -Complete lack of communication and understanding between teams. -Huge staff turnover, had huge number of members of senior team leave in the last year. -Extremely cliquey. -Toxic work culture, sales team managers working 12 hour days and Sundays when contracted hours are 9-5:30. Makes you wonder if they are actually capable or not. -Very poor mid level management, zero management training given so certain team managers (not all) are frankly clueless about how to appropriately lead a team. Not any fault of their own, more a failing of senior management. -Insane pressure and unrealistic sales targets leads to poor customer service and not acting in the customer's best interest. Many dissatisfied customers and advisors/introducers. -Swoop sells itself as a tech platform but the underlying business is nothing more than a generic brokerage with a nice looking website that disproportionately gets a huge amount of it's revenue from unsecured loans. -Significantly less commission on offer for salespeople than other finance brokerages. -Overworked team managers have little time to deal with the issues of their team.
