Pros
When I started at TORC, you looked forward to coming to work as everyday was exciting. The culture was so accepting and inclusive. Your ideas mattered and were praised. Sure there were growing pains but you were trusted to perform your job without being micromanaged. Big brother didn't exist and the reward was "you do your job and we leave you alone to have a great life". We collaborated together, worked together, and celebrated together. It didn't matter what your gender was, and most importantly your title. We were seen as ONE team always working towards ONE goal.
Cons
1. Management - after the acquisition by Daimler it was fine for the first year, then it went to pieces. I get that you have to hire in a C suite but the wrong individuals were hired. The trust and autonomy to do your job was lost. You will be micromanaged and watched by big brother. If that isn't your working style - stay away. 2. Welcome to the world of discrimination! Women are not welcome to "move up" in this organization. The only way to move up is to get hired into a leadership role. 3. You will be instructed to NOT talk to C suite. Employees are allowed to say Hello and that is it. 4. You will be told to come to HR with concerns, only to find out when you do you are told "are you sure you wish to peruse this? We can't guarantee it will end up to your benefit." 5. You will be told that you cannot speak to other departments, even if it means doing your job. You will find out ways to secretly make friends and meet with those you need to in order to get your job done.
