Pros
My time at the Floating Hospital has been an incredible experience. The organization provides the freedom to explore innovative avenues to support patients and achieve personal and professional goals. The team is exceptional, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment, and they genuinely have your best interests at heart. It's a place where your contributions are valued, and you're empowered to make a meaningful impact.
Cons
One challenge of working here is that your role and responsibilities might not always be well understood by others, which can sometimes require extra effort to clarify. Additionally, not speaking Spanish can be a barrier when working with NYC's migrant population. The interconnected nature of departments, while beneficial in many ways, can make it difficult to align everyone on the same page. There's also some occasional tension between departments—for example, someone in HR may not fully support Health Education for reasons that aren't clear. Despite these challenges, the Floating Hospital remains an amazing place to work, with a mission and environment that make a real difference
