Pros

The patient population is remarkable. They qualify for HRSA if you need loan forgiveness, but so do most non-profits who will treat you better.

Cons

If staff resign in a wave, some without a backup plan even, that speaks volumes. -Raises for upper management with no change in role but no raises, bonuses, or acknowledgment for "boots on the ground". -Racism. -Feedback is not taken into consideration. There are no exit interviews and there is retaliation from the moment you resign. -You are a number, not a person. Lunch is unpaid but you're required to work through lunch in direct patient care and to complete admin tasks (at least 4-6h/week) unpaid off the clock. But if you need an extra 5min after "lunch" to handle a family emergency one time, it becomes an issue. -Administration/management and HR are shady. Issues with pay, PTO, schedule, etc. go ignored. PTO disappears without explanation and they refuse to look into it, even with clear documentation. Medical leaves after surgery are ignored/denied. They fire people when they take disability, etc. -They mock serious issues, like an active shooter training or a deadly pandemic. -Staff are shamed for not attending fundraisers outside of working hours. -Patients are exploited for their stories at fundraisers and are afraid to speak up due to fears that their healthcare may be compromised if they do. -Management at all levels minimized pandemic risks. Masks were not enforced. Mandatory staff meetings held in shoulder-to-shoulder conditions, unmasked. -Management works from home, but other staff are in office full time. -Staff who become ill on site are required to see a medical provider in clinic (a coworker) before being allowed to go home. You can't see your own medical provider and then your medical information is available to your supervisors and peers. -The health insurance is a joke. I regularly spend 8-10 hours a week, 2-3 weeks a month, just trying to get simple claims resolved. All health insurance is a headache, but I've never seen anything like this. -They police your PTO to the extent that you cannot even utilize what is offered in your benefits package over the course of a year (and it then expires).

Pros

They definitely help some people.

Cons

Senior management consisted of fact-free, white savior, bickering boomers. No capacity or desire to think longer term - immediate gratification and caressing of egos took precedence. CEO has no prior business management experience - and it shows. Sychophants ahoy!

Pros

Giving patients the services they need.

Cons

Upper management and some managers do not respect their employees, they talk down to their employees. No employee appreciation Complaints to HR does not get addressed Employees leave due to the lack of respect shown to them by their managers. They will allow you to work a full shift and then terminate you. No raises or performance review No support for employees when they are verbally abused, threatened or assaulted by patients. No room for advancement
