Pros
The overall experience was significantly impacted by poor management and culture. There is a clear pattern of hiring external management who lack a proper understanding of the company’s structure, internal systems, and client dynamics. As a result, they often introduce unrealistic KPIs or attempt to overhaul existing processes without fully understanding operational limitations. While long-term staff recognise that some systems and technology are outdated, there has always been a collective effort to work within these constraints. Unfortunately, new management often place blame on employees rather than taking the time to learn and adapt. The management style felt disconnected and, at times, intimidating. There were instances where communication from leadership came across as dismissive and, in some cases, bordering on bullying. Employees at lower levels were frequently blamed for issues outside of their control, and there was little psychological safety to speak up, ask questions, or provide feedback. This created a culture where staff felt undervalued and unsupported. There also appears to be a broader cultural issue within the Sydney store, with high staff turnover and ongoing concerns that do not seem to be effectively addressed. Management engagement with frontline staff is minimal, and opportunities for career progression are limited. Given these factors, I chose to leave after a short period, as the environment presented several clear red flags early on.
Cons
One of the positives of working at the company was the colleagues on the floor were supportive, and I was able to build great relationships during my time there.
