Pros
Lots of talented people on staff. The team really cares about the work they are doing - unfortunately they aren't given the resources to be able to do it properly.
Cons
I've never seen a company treat its staff with such contempt. There are mass redundancies every 3-4 months – there have been 3 rounds of redundancies in just the past year – but there is never any plan or direction. Junior staff constantly take the fall for the utter mismanagement from the senior leadership team. Senior management make decisions that make absolutely no sense and are running the brand into the ground. They have no empathy and seem to be okay with letting people go at random throughout the year. People who are made redundant are constantly hired back as freelancers after management realises they made a mistake - huge waste of money. People are made redundant while on maternity or paternity leave. There is no value placed in quality journalism - only churned out news stories and guides. The company has completely lost sight of what it is supposed to be. Zero job security - everyone is just wondering who will be made redundant next. Pay is bad and it's almost impossible to get a pay rise or a promotion.
