Pros

They seemed nice. Called me on a Sunday afternoon and wanted me to interview right away so we set something up on Monday. They told me I was overqualified and decided to offer me a position that was more suited to my skill set. I was told they didn’t want to waste my talents on a low level position.

Cons

Unfortunately, I didn’t hear back from them. Not at least until I called, texted and emailed them. Even then, nothing but excuses. Ultimately, the position was put on hold and this was weeks later. The fact that the CFO prefers woman was a red flag as well.

Pros

TCE provides excellent training for those looking to enter the telecommunications industry with out any prior industry experience. For those with industry experience, you will have an opportunity to learn from a company with very high standards for safety and quality workmanship. TCE expects a lot from it's employees and in return provides excellent compensation and recognizes great performance. Field management advancement opportunities to become a foreman or construction manager are excellent, most of those in construction management at TCE were at one point Tech I's and worked their way up the ladder to become a foreman, then a construction manager and then a project manager. There are also good opportunities for administration, project coordinators, and close-out-personnel to learn and grow. For those new to the telecom industry, its stable, growing and offers a lot of opportunities to ensure you a long-term career. The company is committed to improving itself everyday and is working hard to become one of the best vendors in the industry.

Cons

A challenge for field employees is being away for 3 or more weeks before returning home. The company has recently reduced this requirement to 3 weeks from 6 to better respond to the needs and wants of employees, this is an industry challenge to all who work in the field, however, TCE is demonstrating a willingness and desire to be proactive and offer a more attractive work opportunity as demonstrated with this policy change. Given the high standards for safety and quality workmanship, the expectations bar is pretty high, but if you are challenged by this type of environment, you will do well here.
