Pros
-Awesome people. Seriously, everyone here is really skilled, friendly, and accepting. -You will gain serious skills. Hopefully you're good already, but your survival and primitive skills will improve dramatically. -Management is reasonable and smart. -As long as you like kids, it's fun. So fun! You're really free to work on the skills and projects you want (within the confines of your camp type) and the campers are generally great.
Cons
-Intense work. Exhausting. A lot of people just go home and pass out after work. A fulfilled sleep, but still. -Trackers is growing A LOT right now, so it's hard to say how different things will be next season. I'm optimistic, because they've done a great job so far. -Pay is okay? Assistants earn minimum wage, regular counselors earn more. Portland is so cheap to live in (and has such high minimum wage) that I managed to save quite a lot of money in one season. I honestly don't know much about pay at competing organizations, but I felt that pay was more or less fair.
