Pros

Paid sabbatical, PTO, pet insurance, universal healthcare, and a pet friendly office.

Cons

Trupanion is a company that really likes to promote from within and sometimes that’s not a good thing. The “cliquey-ness” of everyone from customer care to middle/upper management is is really annoying. They’re constantly spreading toxic positivity that’s hard for someone who suffers from depression or anxiety. They taut that they’re inclusive of those issues but after over a year on the job with no performance issues, they still wouldn’t allow me to work from home even though I had accommodations. When they finally did let me work remotely is was because of the impending pandemic and that was only because they were forcing everyone to work remotely. My director and manager were so cliquey it was uncomfortable to be able to talk to either of them for fear of being punished by the other party. It might have been different if I worked with another team but it was not great for me.

Pros

Very good benefits, especially PTO / Great coworkers with shared "values" (outside of upper mgmt) / Remote Help pets every day

Cons

The co has become another typical corporate greed - no longer cares about customer or staff experience, only the bottom line. Charges premium prices for not so premium insurance, with progressive cut backs in coverage yet continuous policy increases in much too large of percentage (as an employee, I could never afford my own plan). They used to be fantastic, progressive and all-inclusive. Now they keep hide their true behaviors behind a cloak of "transparency" and have lost sight of their own values.
