Pros

- good pay versus local companies - unlimited near-free travel to everywhere in the world - flexible in terms of changing teams (to a different field, or a better position in same department)

Cons

- rolling shift work - absolutely mentally taxing - work is ALWAYS real-time, you cannot rest during work most of the times - bad work - life balance - nepotism in every team

Pros

Global Brand: Working for a prestigious and internationally recognized airline boosts professional credibility. Flight Benefits: Attractive travel perks including discounted or free (only tax) tickets for employees and their families. Job Security: Generally strong job stability due to the company’s scale and government ties. Training & Development: Good emphasis on professional development with comprehensive training programs. Dynamic Environment: Working in a multicultural and international environment keeps the job exciting.

Cons

Work-Life Balance: Depending on the role, the hours can be demanding, including night shifts, holidays and weekends. (Like all other airlines) Bureaucracy: As a large semi governmental institution, decision making can be slow and heavily hierarchical. Promotion Disparity: Employees based at the Istanbul hub are far more likely to be promoted, while experienced local staff at international stations are often overlooked, regardless of performance or tenure. Political Influence: Due to the company’s close ties with the government, political references can play a significant role in promotion decisions.
