Pros

There are lots of opportunities for learning different systems and gaining valuable experience. You get to work with many different groups in various locations across the country. If you're in one of the main locations you can stay at this company for years and move around in various positions. Depending on your role, there are various ways to receive compensation including an annual bonus. If asked about performance prior to your review, your manager is willing to give you a heads up as to how you're doing. The team I work with is great! The business lines I work with are great! They are knowledgeable and offer a lot of insight necessary to support them.

Cons

They tend to be cheap in certain areas such as equipment and communication needs to be improved. There is an underwritten rule that if someone leaves the company you don't talk about it as if it's personal. Another downside is their raises are much lower than their competitors. It is not uncommon for an employee to receive a less than ideal percentage increase. They however try to make it up with a bonus. The bank is large and that poses an issue when trying to get things done. There are IT procedures in place that makes no sense when you need to get things done ASAP.

Pros

The pay is market average, and the benefits are quite good. I love my peers. The vast majority of them are kind and talented people. I truly enjoyed my first several years with the company. Well past the honeymoon period for a new employer. And at the time, I recommended this place to anyone I knew looking for a job.

Cons

Management is a mess from the bottom up. The culture of the company has drastically changed over the last several years because of frequent retirements, layoffs, and reorganizations. Employees I know from across describe the same experience: the company has gone from outstanding culture to one that feels openly hostile to its employees. Management decisions are built like cudgels and enforced through all stick and no carrot.
