Pros
Good benefits and pay, gratifying working in an internationally recognized hospital doing groundbreaking work, easy to feel part of an ecosystem that's contributing to the public no matter what role you're in. Overall, positive work community.
Cons
So poorly managed. The managers are incredibly incompetent across many departments and all levels of management. Not sure if all UC operates this way, but there is a top heavy checks and balance system/legal/policy that prevents people from moving forward with things that can help business operations. The medical/research side has full innovation, but the rest of the departments seem to feel stunted. Also I support Unions, but they do a poor job of enacting change that we need, and do a good job of protecting bad employees.
