Pros
Weekely paycheck 10.35/hr 12am to 3am+., although other shifts were available, only the night shift fit into my school schedule. Monday to Thursday. Decent waiting times (15-30minutes, maybe longer if backed up inside) between actual work, short periods of high paced work. Weekly $100 bonus for attendance. Anything over 5 hours is overtime. Not sweating from slave labor like those poor souls on the belts inside. Decent discounts to ups marketplace on a lot of things.
Cons
Guaranteed job. Mass hiring events. Without $100 weekely bonus, job is not worth it. Unless it’s peak you are unlikely to get more than 12-14 hours a week. You can get up to 18 if you work Saturday’s aka lazy day, but you are required to work EVERY Saturday if you choose to work one. Not really worth it IMO. After taxes/fees you still only get around $200, maybe 220. Better to just work your 4 days and walk away with your 160-170. Unless your car is really good on gas and you want to spend every Saturday at the airport. It seems crazy but there are people making 5-10X as much as you and they don’t do 1/4 the work you do. A lot of people who have been working here for a few years are downright lazy and unproductive. It’s a shame that people can clock in and grab a tug or van to watch Netflix and sleep barely lifting a finger the entire workweek and get $800-$2300. It’s worse with full timers they could only work 20 hours and get paid for 40 hours. They’ve begun to assign the waste of space known as full timers to little tasks, but nothing can be done about the part time guys making $20-50/hr sleeping through work. Downsides of union. It wouldn’t be bad if we made a little more money
