Pros

Benefits and paid time off/sick leave

Cons

-Tell part-time supervisors they cannot touch packages as they are not in union, then turn around and make them work to save the company money on paying hourly employees. -Does not hold hourlys accountable for calling out constantly, then make those who are there do double the work to meet quota. -Highly unstrucutred, unorganized, and most higher level managment is untrained and holds only a high school diploma. Not professional at all, a lot of degoratory name-calling permitted and cursing/disrespect in general. -Managers who have commited fraud but are favored get to stay with company. Will move you on nightshift as punishment if they dont like what you are doing. -Hide and cover-up injuries, go as far as asking employee to lie and still work through injury so the company does not get fined and managers wont get in trouble. -No work life balance, dont know what time shift starts until week of, then no telling when they will call downtime. I can see how some people have to make due with this company because it is their only option, however if you already have your degree's, the amount they pay for school is not worth it, and stay away from operations in general.

Pros

The pay is excellent .health care is 100 % paid with 100 %coverage...with exception to eye and dental which is about 70%..coverage...pension is outstanding..full package with wages and benefits is worth 130,000 yearly..without a college education I am grateful for the standard of living UPS HAS AFFORDED ME AND MY FAMILY!...and with 27 years of service I now get 6 weeks vacation with 8 sick days..and 9 paid holidays...we work hard like many people in the work force but we are well compensated!.

Cons

The only con is while your children are young you give up a lot of family time..I never got to watch my kids play sports and missed a lot of their growing years...the job can be hard on your home life but if you can make it through those years you and your family will enjoy the financial freedom that UPS provides...and now I look forward to a prosperous retirement!...so hang in there all you young drivers...
