Insurance, lots of leave or time off when you have been employed by them long enough, paternity leave available, and matches 6 % of your retirement.
Cons
Lots of harassment in the work place, low pay and inequality of pay ( a fire fighter with a high school degree can out earn a professional with a bachelor or master degree), lack of consistency across the agency, continues to dissolve many of the benefits they used to have such as assisting employees transferring to another station.
