Early into the pandemic in 2020, HR at Ultra Mobile offered “Ultrabucks” incentives for employees who wrote a 5-star review on the company’s Glassdoor profile. I advise anyone reading these reviews to take a lot of those 5-star reviews from 2020 with a grain of salt.
Ultra Mobile will pay BELOW market average for your role. I’ve talked to a few coworkers where we shared our salaries with one another, and we realized we are all being paid below market salary range for the OC area.
Ultra Mobile’s environment harbors a serious BURNOUT CULTURE, akin to an agency. They have insanely quick project turnaround times. I’ve noticed many of my coworkers would have to work weekends to meet these deadlines. When prompted about this issue, senior leadership stated “you have Unlimited PTO - use it to supplement those weekends you worked.” However, you will need your manager’s approval for PTO requests, and depending on the manager and amount of work you have, it’s 1) difficult to bring up that request and 2) they may possibly deny it if they need you to work.
To tie the 2 points above together: Ultra Mobile will likely overwork and underpay you. My advice is to work at Ultra Mobile if you’re in need of a job, but leave for greener pastures once you’ve accumulated some level of experience.
