Pros
Good pay, a lot of work to do
Cons
* Leadership is not trained * C level leadership has no vision or future planning for the department resulting in a team that only takes care of daily fires everywhere * Tools used are inadequate and nowhere near what is needed for doing the work * leadership listens to what needs improvement but is not really interested in changing anything * Not a safe space to ask questions and you are expected to do your work on your own * Collaborative work is said to be encouraged but you are seen as not as good if you ask for pair coding or ask questions * There's no diversity in higher leadership or even middle leadership; that's not encouraged either * Expect a lot of mansplanning * company itself is not interested in listening to employees; even performance reviews only takes into account your boss point of view not even pairs or stakeholders - at least you do not have any access to pairs/stakeholders' feedbacks and there's no middle ground where you have your say before the result in the evaluation
