A good place to work - Integrator Vertech Industrial Systems Employee Review

Pros

Relaxed atmosphere, flexible hours, decent benefits, and the company "core-values" and "vision statement" are taken seriously by all. The leadership prioritizes enabling employees to have a work-life balance, so as long as you get your work done on time and meet quality standards, you aren't expected to work extra hours. Integrity in customer relations is actively pursued by the leadership, so hours bid for projects are usually realistic (to the best of the abilities of our marketing team), meaning that employees are usually able to complete objectives within their contracted 40-hour week. The people here really enjoy their work, and tend to spend their spare time using programming tools from the job (licensing for which they wouldn't be able to afford otherwise) to produce software for fun. Some employees have even made a hobby of producing video games using industrial automation software, and those projects are passed around the office when done. As a result, we often find ourselves working long hours on a project, not out of necessity, but because we enjoy the work and want to make the product really cool, so that it meets our own personal standards of coolness. These long hours are clocked and the leadership expresses appreciation for the effort invariably. For salaried employees, this is allowed as long as we make sure that the project meets company standards and client specifications by the calendar deadline.

Cons

The company does well to maintain its own financial stability, but downturns in the economy have historically resulted in layoffs. We have an XBox, but nobody plays it, and XBox Live doesn't work 100% (we can't play online, but we can make accounts) We're making a brewery in the back, but it's not done yet, so we can't brew our own beer yet (as of this review, 2017 08 07). The onboarding/training process for new integrators still needs some improvement. The building has a lot of unused vertical space. We never seem to satisfy 100% of the people in the office with the thermostat. We can't seem to settle on one "social media"/messenger platform for the whole office to communicate on. The office isn't in the nicest part of town (there's a waffle house right down the road).
