Pros

- summers off - if you’re goal is to work in an office of advancement this could be a good way to get your foot in the door since you meet the heads of giving at universities

Cons

NO work-life balance - as a national program manager you will work every single day (7 days a week), with the exception of the one day that you drive to a new school - you will also most likely be working from about 10am - 10pm daily - it’s impossible to have friends or family while working this job - salaries are unlivable - management is shady

Pros

The office is in a decent part of Austin.

Cons

This place is completely resistant to any kind of change or new ideas, which honestly gets old fast when you actually care about improving things. I spent months suggesting simple process improvements and literally nothing happened — not even a real conversation about why they wouldn't work, just silence. Everyone just goes through the motions because nobody at the top seems to actually want things to be better, they just want stability and that's it. The culture is stagnant as hell, people have straight up given up, and management doesn't listen to anyone below a certain level no matter what you say. You can feel how stuck everything is, how burned out everyone feels, and that just spreads through the whole place. I left because I couldn't stand watching the same problems happen over and over knowing nobody was going to actually fix them.
