Pros

-Education budget -Budget allocated for working from home -Health insurance -Pension plan -Gym membership (Urban Sports Club)

Cons

-very little opportunity for career growth, often times due to leads playing a game of favoritim amongst employees (often times judging at face value) -no space for criticism towards leadership or the company -an ambient herd mentality that pushes employees into avoiding having any critical opinion towards management or the company (if you have any, you are considered "the black sheep of the company"). -some leads would sometimes use their position of power to bully or infantilize employees (by mocking, vilifying/talking behind the employee's back, disvaluing the employee's opinions/skills, etc.). -some leads would play the victim card and apply company values only if it benefits them or their agenda -constant feeling of exhaustion due to the pressure of consistently delivering the highest quality work under rigid deadlines (often times working with outsourcers that don't understand the basics of their job), which has been worsened with the pandemic

Pros

Wooga has so earned the Leading Employer award. This puts Wooga among the top 1% of employers in Germany. To all employers out there, take Wooga as an example. Appreciation of employees is so important. Wooga cares about its employees and is hands-on and proactive. I am very happy here at Wooga. Great benefits, very good work environment, great people and really good management staff too. I have the honor to work with the best team ever! Everyone is very supportive and caring. We not only work very well together, but also really well for each other.

Cons

There's just always something to eat at Wooga. Fortunately, USC is supported by Wooga, so you have a chance to work off the calories.

Pros

Wooga has work life balance down, which is unusual for a game company. Deadlines will generally be moved before crazy crunch hours are expected. Plenty of vacation days and when you are on vacation no one expects you to be working at the same time. Friendly employees from all around the world. Big enough to be stable, but small enough for good communication, transparency, and minimal bureaucracy.

Cons

Pay wasn't great as an intern, $800 euros per month. While Wooga is very diverse with regards to country of origin, like many tech companies there is still some lack of diversity when it comes to women, people of color, etc. It isn't a hostile environment by any stretch, but for a company that makes games with women included in their target audiences, there are surprisingly few female programmers and game designers.
