Working Remote did have it's draw backs, in that the work was so fun that it was hard to know when to stop working. It was too easy to "go back to work".

Pros
The best thing about Zerolag is that 90% of employees work from home. Besides staff working in data centers all other employees work at home. Schedules are flexible but you are expected to be available outside regular working hours. The company has a very entreprenurial culture and coming up with innovative solutions is encouraged.
Cons
All-virtual environment is challenging for good teamwork. Lots of people in positions that are way higher then they have ever worked before and because of that are often stressed out, indecisive or make bad decisions. Company is self funded and has no outside investors so things are very lean. Pay and benefits are below average for a tech company and turnover is high. There was a big shake up last year with a well liked top executive leaving and loss of key sales people. A new executive was brought in but recently quit within the first 12 months and some of the team he brought in is leaving to. Management vision is to drive hard for growth and profits but some focus on customer satisfaction has been lost resulting in more outages than years before.
