Pros

ABOVE AVERAGE MARKET SALARY QUARTERLY BONUSES OFFICE AT SKYVIEW 20

Cons

The company specializes in assisting U.S. government entities by providing tax benefits to U.S. companies engaged in research and development (R&D). This involves detailed documentation and reports that are written based on client interviews and notes regarding their R&D projects. Job Responsibilities: The primary task is to draft high-quality case studies from poorly documented interviews (referred to as "vomit") about clients’ past R&D projects. Although this may sound straightforward, it is a complicated process since many projects were conducted a long time ago, often leaving both clients and associates with little understanding of the details. Consequently, even the most technically proficient individuals may struggle to meet the company’s expectations for quality. Major Issues Identified: Improper Docket Distribution: Project Managers (PMs) have varying workloads, leading to uneven distribution of billable work. Those assigned to high-billable teams can easily succeed, while others may struggle and go unrecognized despite their efforts and talents. Lack of Proper Training: There is insufficient knowledge transfer, resulting in poorly trained employees. Senior R&D personnel often evade answering conceptual questions, leaving newcomers confused and unsupported. Flawed Review Process: The review system is riddled with issues, including favoritism due to visible assignment trackers. Incompetent reviewers are often assigned to final reports, causing unnecessary stress and frustration for drafters who receive vague and unhelpful feedback. Ineffective Leadership: Leadership in India lacks the necessary understanding of drafting intricacies, leading to a chaotic environment. This weakness breeds conflict among employees and disrupts productivity. Incompetence at Senior Levels: Promotions have been given to individuals lacking the required skills, which negatively impacts the workflow. Drafters bear the brunt of the workload while those in senior positions do not contribute meaningfully. Unrealistic Expectations: The company sets exceedingly high expectations for turnaround times and quality scores. Meeting these expectations is difficult, as reviewers often provide arbitrary critiques that diminish the scores of well-crafted drafts. Overall Environment: The work environment has become toxic due to systemic inefficiencies, resulting in high attrition rates. Despite attractive salaries and benefits, many employees are seeking better opportunities. There is a lack of meritocracy; those who align with management's preferences are favored, while others are overlooked. Final Thoughts: The overwhelming dissatisfaction among employees, especially drafters, is palpable. Many feel trapped in their positions due to a challenging job market and lengthy notice periods. This review serves as a call to action for potential employees to seek firsthand accounts from current employees to better understand the workplace dynamics. Humble Request to Readers: Please share this review widely before it is removed by management. Satyameva Jayate.

Pros

Expanding company with significant upside. Great comp packages and very quick growth opportunities. Benefits packages are over the top too.

Cons

High expectations around client experience can lead to high work load periods. It’s always been worth it in the the end but it’s definitely not a 9-5.

Pros

Free food & coffee, good benefits

Cons

The worst management and leadership I have ever experienced. Hostile, abusive, toxic, and extreme lack of professionalism. If you went to a top law school and are looking for a respectable job, DO NOT work here. Sadly, your career will begin and end here if you don’t get out quickly. Certain supervisors/senior attorneys displayed signs of active addiction/use during work trips and work hours, which created a very scary and concerning environment. They also severely underpay attorneys and make you “earn” an office. There are so many actual law firms in Houston, so please stay as far away from this place as possible.
