Then the layoffs came and ruined it all. nCino brought everyone to the office 5 days a week and laid off most if not all remote employees. The sweet culture talk took a walk.. and the pink bubble burst. Come to think of it, there were some signs of the actual management mindset towards the business and it people, with CEO often saying "I", "ME", "MY company" in his all hands talks. Then there were the company parties with the executives flaunting their classic cars in front of the headquarters. All that aside, going back to business and the products: it's time to start collecting data and making data-informed decisions. To my surprise, the employees at the company build digital solutions without any solid market research or data available to them. nCino does not have any usage data on their products either. For a company that sells an analytics product (nIQ), that's pretty bad.
Last but not least, maybe it's a Wilmington thing, but there is very little diversity at this company.
To finish on a positive note, this feedback is provided to serve as constructive criticism. nCino has a great potential and can turn things around, if only they decide to listen to their employees.
