    I worked at Euro-Pro full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Cash, they pay pretty well

    Cons

Everything else... Caustic, humiliating, downright nasty.

    Advice to Management

Sell up, cash in, spend more time with your families.

    Pros

    Incredible growth
Dynamic environment with room for learning and mistakes
Company chewing up market share from Dyson
Powerful direct to consumer business model

    Cons

The company has a fundamental lack of processes which have resulted in senior executives making virtually all decisions. Growth driven by entry to mid-level team members that book long hours. High turnover negatively impacts employee morale.

    Advice to Management

There is an opportunity for the leadership of the company to delegate more. Also to review the reasons why there has been so much turnover despite the high growth profile of the company. Training is not a core competency of the company and therefore a greater opportunity for employee development longer term.

    I worked at Euro-Pro full-time

    Pros

There are some very nice people that you'll work with (if they can manage to stick it out). It's just a shame how this company treats them.
The pay is decent, but consider it hazard pay and to help offset the cost of living in Boston.

    Cons

I'm not sure Glassdoor will allow enough space to write all of the reasons not to work for Euro-Pro. Please, if you are reading this and actually considering working at Euro-Pro, I would tell you to run (not walk) the other direction. Look through LinkedIn for some of the hundreds of ex-EuroPro employees and contact some of the ones who were in the position that you might be applying for to get the straight story. Don't believe any of the positive reviews here, they are planted by employees incentivized by EP management to do so.
You'll see a lot of common themes in the reviews here - no work-life balance, crushing expectations, micromanagement from the top, massive turnover, unethical business practices, unprofessional top management, lack of strategy, constantly shifting priorities, lack of communication, toxic environment, horrible working conditions. Don't say you weren't warned.

    Advice to Management

Your egos wouldn't possibly let you believe that you need to change, but at some point the house of cards will come crashing down. There are ways to be successful in business without ruining people's lives. Trusting and empowering your employees would be a great start.

    Pros

Fast Paced; Always Changing; Never a dull moment; free breakfast on Fridays; free lunch many days; opportunity for travel; opportunities to be in front of senior management

    Cons

Non-stop; expected to be on email 24/7; China travel is not for everyone

    Advice to Management

Value your current employees and work very hard to retain the very good ones; promote from within

    I worked at Euro-Pro full-time

    Pros

You might meet a few cool people along the way who entered the Thunder Dome (Euro Pro) as a result of being ambitious, hungry, driven professionals. These personalities are soon crushed into submission and most everyone ends up with a mild to severe anxiety disorder. But guys, don't worry, there are free bagels on Friday.

    Cons

Every. single. thing. (Except some nice people who are tenacious and resilient, god love them.)
Folks I could list it out for days, but I'm tired to my bones. There are a million consumer packaged goods companies, there are a million places to make your mark, so pick a place where you can trust your management to be your advocate. Good people are indeed there, but the culture is so aggressive that your armour is constantly up, making it difficult to forge true connections. If you want to mirror the success of others who have battled through a couple years for the salary upgrade and hard earned experience, just have a contingency plan for the 20 extra pounds you'll gain and the time you'll need to take after this experience to regain your sense of self.

    Advice to Management

Get new management to help manage current management on how to manage their multiple managers in a managerial way. Or just like, keep doing it the way you're currently doing it. Make a lot of money in the next 5 years, hit the plateau, lose your top guns, encounter a couple HR snafus, see how it goes ya know. I mean people say Steve Jobs was like this incredible genius-jerk but Apple still exists. It doesn't mean the people who avoid this company will live fuller, happier, more functional lives, but it kind of does mean exactly that.

    Pros

    1. Pay is higher than most companies.
    2. Fast paced, definitely not boring.
    3. Great workers

    Cons

    1. No life - work 24x7 to keep up with all the work.
    2. Belittled when you are not up to date on project tasks that occurred over night.
    3. Live in fear of being fired.

    Advice to Management

    1. Stop being a Mark puppets who just do what he says.
    2. Workers have great ideas, listen to them.

    I worked at Euro-Pro full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great people (individually)
Great salary (for a reason- you do pay for it!)
    Good Health insurance
CEO and President- even thought it is frustrating for some people because they are very involved, they are bright and knowledgeable.

    Cons

There is a reason I am taking all this time writing this review- I don't want anybody else to make the same mistake I made. Here are some Cons:
No work-life balance and I mean it. Forget about spending time with family, friends, doing your favorite hobbies. This will only work if you are a workaholic- . Please don't take this lightly.
Culture- the senior management (most of them) have a 24/7 mentality, they like to micromanage and they are not receptive to change (even when they say they are) that equals a very stressful and frustrating environment. Because they have the 24/7 mentality they expect you to be the same way. One of the characteristics of a bad manager...
People are treated like bodies/machines, not as humans- This is very sad!
There is not one person I know from there that is happy working there; not one.
Please believe all the bad reviews you see here. They are true. They may tell you differently because they need the bodies but it is not a good place to work at.

    Advice to Management

Culture is driven by management, don't ask yourselves why the culture is the way it is. It is because of you. When you start treating people like people and not bodies, and when you start to understand people's needs better that is when things will change. It is about being humans.

    Pros

    Discounted vending machines

    Insurance

Some of the Smartest minds work here

Money is good, they're running out of people to hire so they pay well but it comes at a price

    Exposure to China Manufacturing

Great benefits during travel - concierge service, first class travel, great accommodation, relaxed rules regarding spending

If you survive EuroPro, working at other places is easier

Trying to fix issues, but unless you accept what is wrong with the culture you can never fix it

Love the consumer centered product development process!

    Cons

Although they hire smart people, designs and product ideas are driven by what the 'Marks' want, teams spend most of their time making those ideas work- let people do their jobs!

You'll go through more managers in your tenure here than you would if you switched jobs every 6 months

Clique based promotions - your skill sets are irrelevant

No work life balance, plan to work through your vacation, at night on weekdays and early mornings too

Women never return from maternity leave or are usually laid off right after

Marketing is a bunch of witchy women

Gossip makes you popular so trust no one

Management is known to yell at smart and hardworking people - scaring people into doing their jobs is not the best way, they burn out

    Aggressive personalities are encouraged

HR knows about the issues but does nothing to fix them

    Micromanagement ruins confidence over time

Some executives are too busy playing politics to get real work done

Titles are created randomly, too many managers with no employees to manage

People pleasing causes inexperienced people to move up the ladder later affecting product integrity

I recently had someone tell me how their manager asked them to 'review' EuroPro and the exact words were 'if you don't have anything positive to say, don't write a review'.. So now you know why there are random 5 star reviews here and there..

People joke about being fired - NOT FUNNY!

Everyone always has one foot out the door

    Advice to Management

Review your executive team and start the culture change from there - they are your biggest problem

Your breakthroughs should be better work culture and happier employees, you're minting the money anyway
