Pros

Work/life balance; solid benefits, though a little on the expensive side

Cons

If you're looking for a fun, challenging, innovative place to work, this might not be it. Very little room for growth, though upper management will say otherwise; promotions are based on nepotism and not merit; raises have been getting skimpier and skimpier each year; a lot of employees aren't paid their due and management has verbally acknowledged that, yet nothing changes (many positions pay way under the national average, though this company likes to brag about its sturdy finances); women might find it very frustrating to have their voices heard, if at all; very old school modes of thinking where executives will want to innovate but won't ever actually pull the trigger on things; no matter what position you're in, they want you to be a glorified salesperson; it's hard to get a seat at the table with these guys, and even if you do, you might find their old school jokes and behavior a little unnerving; senior upper management doesn't want to hear what anyone has to say unless it falls in line with what they're already thinking in their heads. The work really has no purpose, either. They try to sell you on the whole "help serve those who serve our country" nonsense, but upcharging servicemen and women for something they can more easily find online is not patriotic whatsoever, and that belief shows in the downward trending business across many of Eurpac's companies. Some of the offices really need to start employing green initiatives to deal with all the daily waste produced and no available recycling options.

Pros Don't Outweigh the Cons

Pros

People are great and there is a lot of longevity and tenure there. Job security for the most part and the ESOP benefits are nice. Management made efforts to do fun things and have occasional outings and office parties to boost moral.

Cons

Extremely behind the times when it comes to technology and procedures. Very much ran by a few "old boys" at the top and lots of nepotism at play here. Little to NO advancement opportunities. Pay SUCKS!!! They pay way under the marketplace average for same positions and they will tell you it is because they are a "military company" however, they are profitable enough to pay the going rate for these positions. If you are a long time employee, you have probably moved positions a few times and been told it was "lateral move" and were given small (3%) salary increase for what should be a promotion. Then you will find out they are bringing in people outside the company for new positions and paying them much more than you are making. Not too many women in management roles and the ones that are, are not treated as equals. Very behind the times on allowing employees to have flexible hours and work from home options. 80% of my job could have been done remotely but that was not an option. However, we do have remote employees and others within the company who are allowed work from home options. This was a point of contention for many because the "rules" were not fairly enforced across the entire company. Company was extremely behind the times when it comes to utilizing technology and the systems in place were old and antiquated (still using a DOS based platform for a lot of the work!).

Pros

Honestly, this is the kind of job where you clock out and don't look back until you have to, so I guess you can call that work/life balance.

Cons

These people expect more out of their employees without doing anything more from the top-down. Come to find out that most of the executive circle is "Oh, he's so-and-so's brother-in-law; oh, he and so-and-so are cousins." Yes, "he". There are barely any women up top, and the ones who are there are meek and constantly have to swat away disgusting old-boy behavior, as if #MeToo never happened. There is not much promise of moving up in the company unless you're chosen by some act of nepotism. Even once you move up, the pay is so awful, you should've just stayed where you were in the first place. Any big new business is treated as a House account, so no one sees that money except for the select few who don't need any more. The technology infrastructure in this company is abysmal. You can't even get your phones, the bread and butter of your business, to work. Yes, I said phones. Apparently, this company exists in a world where email communication and instant messaging never happened. The management circle loves the phrase, "I'm old school." It's very disparaging to hear a bunch of baby boomers tell you they flat out refuse to learn more or build on their own knowledge simply because they are lazy and afraid of change. Big E-Commerce giants are looming in the background all this time stealing all the business right from under their welcome mats, and the execs are aware of it, but the only people that this loss of business hurts are the poor people who bring the business in to begin with. There is absolutely no sense of accountability, no innovation, no technological savvy, and HORRIBLE PAY at this company. Seriously, everyone makes at least 20% below the industry standard for their position. Unfortunately, Eurpac seems to be stuck in the Bush administration era; the FIRST Bush.
