Cons

Where to begin? For starters, they don’t really care about you as an individual. You’ll be lucky if you get to work for a supervisor that has human qualities and regards you the same, and chances are the company will get rid of that person for “being ineffective.” When I started, there was no work in my department so after training, we were sent to work assembly lines. Fortunately I developed a good rapport with a handful of people on the line I consistently went to help and for the entire time I was there, they would ask to borrow me when they were short handed (because as often as not, there wasn’t enough work to do in sewing on second shift.) In my own department, I had a super who stared at us all shift, and made all the wrong, inaccurate observations of employees under her. Of the 2 team leads, one did almost all the work and the other mostly ate snacks on the factory floor, reapplied her lip balm, and flirted with a supervisor from another department. Our “performance” reviews did not reflect our actual work accomplishments or ethic, but instead everyone got the same raise and generic, inaccurate comments about areas for improvement. Recently, they eliminated 2nd shift company wide and placed everyone in sewing on assembly lines with no regard at all for preference/prior work experience in other areas of the plant. I got stuck on a line with the above mentioned team lead and supervisor who were increasingly becoming more obvious and inappropriate with their attentions toward each other. I work hard. No matter what I’m doing. I also learn ways to become more efficient. I know how to use power tools. More than once in my two weeks on this new line I was treated like a “little lady” who just needed to learn how to use faulty tools when I would alert someone that something I was using was not functioning properly, once from the line super. On my last 2 days, I was shuffled to a job using solvents to clean and prep finished units. When I asked not to be placed there a second day due to how the solvent fumes made me feel, I was straight up told they’d rather me go home than accommodate me because they need to control people so they don’t just do what they want. I walked out and did not finish out the week I was serving as a courtesy notice. This place will chew you up and spit you out. If you go work here, prepare to incur repetitive motion injuries and to have Dr notes regarding such injuries ignored at the risk of “showing favoritism.” There is a lot of turnover here, and you will just be another cog in the machine.
