Pros

I used to love my job. I woke up happy to go to work everyday. We had a great team and it was like a second family. That's changed. We get 7 free nights a year. Moving up in the company is fairly easy because of the massive turnover.

Cons

This company has been through so many changes and reorganizations I can't even keep track anymore. For over a century I've given blood, sweat and tears....nights and weeks away from my family. Always on on call. I have been maxed out on vacation for over 2 years because we don't have the management to cover any of us taking time off. I had a prior colleague call me and ask my opinion of them coming back. I urged them not to do it The newest venture they are trying is Multi Unit General Managers. That is the ONLY salaried manager running 2-3 properties with only hourly help. And don't dare let your staff get 1 minute of overtime. So if a multi unit GM has worked 60 hours by Friday evening (which is not uncommon) and the over night person calls in (also not uncommon) the GM covers it. It's the end of the pay period so it is nearly impossible to find an employee to cover that wouldn't go into overtime. Sleep?! Food?!? Showers?!? Who needs it?! Not a GM with our company. This position sets a person up to fail. We run with very little budget, skeleton staffing and extremely unrealistic expectations. It's all about the board members getting their dollars. We are micromanaged beyond belief. If you are a single person with no social life and the desire to be worked to death, unappreciated, underpaid and on call 24/7 then you've found the job for you!!!
