Pros

- Exposure to fast-moving network production, particularly in post, giving you an understanding of the broadcast pipeline - As with any job, there are stressful days, but they are usually balanced out by more relaxed ones. - Fun environment on the Fox lot

Cons

- Network TV in general is on the downslope. That means the studios are not pumping their money into it, which means generally low pay. - This has subsided, but the years of the Disney/Fox merger were very uncertain and not every department made it through. Again, you are not at the forefront of corporate's interests. - Hours can be unpredictable

Pros

Feels relatively stable Convenient location

Cons

Terrible management, overworked, no life work balance or respect for anyone’s personal time (despite our allotted PTO, that time is not respected). Morale is very low and workers are not nice to each other. Pay is low for support staff and there is no room for growth.

Fun Work, Not Good Pay

Recommend

Business outlook

Pros

It was always fun to work there. People were generally happy and the environment was nice. The work would get tense sometimes, but that's what happens in broadcast.

Cons

Pay. No studios pay enough to keep on the highly skilled employees. Luckily some of the good employees stick around long enough to climb the ladder. But, if you want to get paid appropriately for your work, studios aren't going to be the spot to work.
