Pros

Talented, collaborative teams with strong knowledge sharing. Exposure to international client projects that accelerate learning (ML/MLOps, Azure/AWS, Databricks). Flexible remote culture; solid code review practices and quality standards. Technical leadership generally accessible and open to mentorship when needed. Decent documentation and internal forums (tech talks, guilds) that add value.

Cons

Compensation below market for senior LATAM profiles; adjustments can be slow. Project placement can take time; bench periods create uncertainty and fatigue. Career paths and levels not always transparent; promotions feel unpredictable. Perceived lack of transparency from the CEO regarding projected equity value for employees; assumptions about valuation, dilution, and exit scenarios are not clearly communicated. You can't work outside your country. Pressure to take on additional internal work (proposals, interviews, content) even while fully staffed on a client, with no extra compensation or benefits; unclear boundaries lead to context switching and burnout risk.

Pros

The company offers competitive salaries and values continuous learning, providing resources for training and even covering certification costs. Additionally, the team is highly skilled, and the workplace culture is supportive and pleasant.

Cons

As an employee, you work on projects for client companies. While some clients are prestigious, the majority are not, and as a contractor, you might experience poor treatment from these companies since "the client is always right." The company charges clients a significant amount for your services but retains about 60% of what they earn from your work.

Pros

As a Latin American, Factored pays you on your national currency. Salaries and benefits are really competitive in Colombia, where I am based. At Factored you will have the opportunity to work with top companies from the USA alongside team mates from all over the americas. People are nice and open to hear all your ideas and support you on your personal and professional growth. Here you can be yourself, dye your hair, have tattoos, or do whatever you want just don't be a jerk to others :) Factored also provides technological equipment for you to do your job and pays for your health insurance. There's also a chance to receive bonuses for doing a great job and a monthly extra money for you to buy food or go to the market.

Cons

Most of the job is remote. If you are the kind of person that would love an office to go to, we have only 2 of them available in Colombia: Bogotá, and Medellin. This is temporary and are still working on defining our expansion for the next year, as we are always growing.
