In my experience, there is a significant gap between the organisation’s public messaging and the reality experienced by employees.
Leadership communication often feels selective, overly polished and disconnected from the operational impact on staff. This makes it difficult to trust that employees are being given a full and honest view of business priorities, challenges or decision-making.
Strategic direction is inconsistent. Priorities can shift without clear explanation, and teams are often expected to absorb the consequences of reactive decisions. This creates confusion, pressure and uncertainty, while accountability for those decisions is not always visible.
The company speaks strongly about values, people and culture, but my experience was that commercial outcomes, optics and profitability often appeared to take priority over employee experience, sustainability and long-term organisational health.
Over time, that disconnect between stated values and actual decision-making became difficult to ignore.
