Small shop mentality. The owners are husband and wife, manager has been there for over a decade now, you are always going to be an outsider. If one takes a dislike to you, they all do and it is 3 against 1. It is something I really wish I knew of before I worked here and I will keep in mind with small staff counts. Days off are never together unless something like Christmas and Boxing Day are involved so work life balance is not really there. Management have awful attitudes to mental health. Avoid if you have any mental health issues. Same goes for neurological disorders like autism. I was frequently shouted at, both in front of customers and downstairs in the shoe storage room. In hindsight they spoke to me in a condescending fashion. When they took a dislike to me, training was withheld. They failed to provide effective guidance when I was using the equipment alone for the first time and berated me when I made mistakes and wouldn't tell me what I got wrong. I remember one instance where when I forgot what came next in the assessment (it was my first one solo), I asked the manager what was next and she went "oh just let me do it" and I got yelled at off the female owner for showing the company up. Eventually, I got sacked, which I was hoping for as they wore me down so much. Except the female owner told me I resigned. I had not. Make of that what you will.
