Pros

The job pays the bills

Cons

Work conditions are cold (35*) and wet. No family values at all, can care less about family concerns. You better just be at work. If your child gets sick at school, the school calls the plant for you to pick your child up you are issued a point for leaving work early. The company has core values that supervisors preach about Supervisors and Management forget them quick but are quick with letting you know about them with a coaching or write up. Most management won't even greet you in a hallway with a simple "Hello" unless they need something from you. Supervisors think your some 2nd class citizen treat you with no respect, just do what I say or else.

Pros

I enjoyed working with everyone that was outside of management.

Cons

A Brazilian company bought the company out a few years ago. They have replaced most of the managers with their people who don't understand how to run a salad company. There are always hiccups, staff is that very poorly, and there is no employee moral so turnover is ridiculously high.

Pros

There were a lot of great people who have worked there but most all have left, many this year due to the new ownership.

Cons

Since new ownership took over in January the culture has changed drastically. I encourage any new prospective employees to research the Brazilian business culture. It is 180 degrees opposite of what Americans are used too. They do not Trust any of their employees , there is absolutely zero communication from senior level management to the employees. They encourage their managers to micromanage their employees. No goals and objectives have been communicated to the workforce. They do not want anyone to have business relationships with vendors. It is the lowest cost on everything (goods and services) period. The senior management at this facility recently inherited their positions based on attrition. They do not have adequate experience to run an operation like this . The turnover rate especially in production and materials management departments is very high. This is a 24 hour 7 day a week operation and their is no work life balance. If you are involved in the operation it is a very demanding work environment.. This company is in the produce business which is one of the toughest industries to work in and then on top of that add in the drastic culture change being fostered by the new ownership/management all adds up to be a very challenging work environment. Again Buyer Beware, please do your research and homework on this company before making any employment decisions. This company is still in the midst of transition and I do not see the culture changing anytime soon.
