Pros

Executive Leadership Teams (CEO, etc) really care about the organization from top down. The company feels like a family

Cons

This company feels like a place where very high performing people come to get a comfy work life so they can focus on family other things in life. Obviously nothing wrong with that, but take it in context when drafting your career. This place is not for young talented professionals looking to develop skills. Often times there is nothing to do. People are very scared of going against the grain. We do things because "they have always done this way," Small changes cant happen without VP level approval.

Excellent if you are in the Senior Club

Pros

Their benefits were good and if the year was good your bonus was good.

Cons

Rewards go to the Senior Leadership. Period. They have you fill out a employee satisfaction survey but if you don't give great reviews, you department will be talked to unfavorably I might also add it doesn't pay to be honest on the survey. Nothing happens on negative feedback except the senior team gets upset so your really can only put positive thoughts. When times get tough, they look to "eliminate" positions of the workers , never senior leadership, "the club". Work from home only applied to some, others were told they needed to be visible at all times, so it doesn't apply to everyone, you really need to get it in writing if you want it. No room for advancement or training to advance. They mention succession planning but it really doesn't exist.

Be thorough in your interview process

Pros

I learned a lot about myself and things that are important to me during my short time here.

Cons

GS1 put on a good front for the interview process but was completely different upon arrival. During the interview and on my first day I was told two remote days, once I submitted the paperwork I was told I had to wait a year. My manager did not know what my job entailed or how to use the tools for my job. Discovered that the manager was recently promoted and did not go through any manager training, or training for the job itself. If you want to work hard and be recognized for it GS1 is not the place for you. If you want to suck up to the higher ups and be promoted, this is your place! Ask about red lines and blue lines, at GS1 you’re not allowed to talk to upper management, you have to stay within your lines.
