Pros

Small company with owners onsite contribute to a laid back family type atmosphere. Most people show up to work in sweat pants and t shirts. The benefits seem pretty decent and include medical and dental. The managment is very knowledgable about the industry that they are in which comes from the fact that the company was founded 50 years ago by Dr. Galbraith and has grown since then.

Cons

Lack of willingness of owners to reinvest in the company. The lab has been around for 50 years and still operates like it did 50 years ago. Run down and makeshift facilities, old equipment, little to no automation, depressing atmosphere. The lab itself is a maze created over the years by haphazardly adding rooms onto a core cement building. Old equipment is tucked into corners and every cabinet.

Pros

Employees are typically able have a very flexible work schedule. Benefits are good and plenty of paid sick leave/vacation time is given to full-time employees. Co-workers are generally very friendly and pleasant to work with. With a fundamental knowledge of chemistry and a good work ethic on the job training is possible for many positions.

Cons

Wages are below average for the region, especially for positions that require advanced knowledge of chemistry or prior experience. Advancement opportunities are limited due to the relatively small size of the company.
