Worst Company I've Ever Worked For

Pros

Working remotely (was a bigger benefit before COVID, but now half of all companies offer this).

Cons

--most nepotistic company you will ever see. Every single leadership position got the role because of family and they are NOT qualified to be in charge --Horrible leadership that is not at all transparent --terrible benefits (no 401k, no life insurance, only 10 days PTO, mediocre medical care, no FSA, only 6 paid holidays, no flex time, etc) --abysmal raises for employees — think 2% once a year after promising you a huge raise --under market wages (got a 45% base salary raise just by going to another company) --random layoffs/firings to cover up incompetencies of higher ups (saw one man get fired for a mistake his boss reviewed and okayed him on)

Pros

If you are either a) related to the CEO or b) a friend of the CEO's family, you will flourish here! The pay is good, and in entry-level positions you can usually keep your head down and avoid noticing the cons.

Cons

Racism, sexism, classism, ableism, homophobia... you name it, Genesis Digital will provide it in spades. The pay is good, but it's nothing compared to the price of working with the monsters that inhabit the upper management. This compant is toxic beyond belief, and I am disgusted to have them listed on my resume. Do yourself a favor and skip them at all costs.

Cliques, egos, and duplicity

Pros

There are some wonderful people who work there, and the Support department is a great place to be with a well-designed training system and good organization.

Cons

Every part of the company besides Support is a bit of a nightmare. The C-level people have gigantic egos because they made a lot of money when they were in their 20s and now they think their poop don't stink. They actually have no idea what they're doing and make all their money using ethically dubious marketing tactics. They hire their old buddies and fire anybody they think has sided with any of their enemies—and they make plenty of enemies. They're Wolf of Wall Street types, slimy amoral internet marketers. Those are the people running this company, and their attitude seeps into the rest of the company.
