Strong Start, Bitter Finish

Pros

-Hardworking and talented coworkers who are happy and willing to grow, as well as assist you in learning. - Some flex hours (start before 10, leave after 4) with reasonable work life balance. -Opportunity to learn new software -Dog friendly office during my tenure.

Cons

- Salary is not competitive nationally or locally. - No raises given after the first year. All "raises" are 3% cost of living and locked in escrow until completion of a 7+ year large scale project that management refused to lead or give direction on. I did not receive this compensation after leaving Ghost. - The reason for the moratorium on raises given was poor growth and inability to support it financially - four new roles were created in the year following, two have since been laid off. -No promotions or career growth possible. -Healthcare contributions from the company have not been increased at all throughout my tenure. -Annual reviews were given in an open forum public format with coworkers asked to rank your performance in key categories and all discuss publically. -Overbearing and abrasive communication from the CEO which makes both meetings and social interactions unpleasant - attempts to address these comments at the moment were unsuccessful.

Thank you for highlighting the flex core hours - we have really needed this now that we hire people all over the country working remotely too. We did go through a large raise cycle in 2020 to adjust everyone to a competitive salary. And have since updated health care benefits. In 2016-2019 we were growing and expanding and developing our teams.

Pros

-Small staff -Great work to life -Good location The small staff at ghost productions is a positive. You get to know everyone around you quite well. Two of the owners, are enjoyable people to be around. The work to life balance at Ghost Productions is by far the best thing about the workplace. This is really dependent on what position you have at Ghost Productions. Expect occasional overtime. The location in Roseville is very nice.

Cons

-low salary -CEO -poor management -poor benefits -high turnover -coffee is poison High turnover, Ghost Productions is a nice stepping stone to other places. Average life of any employee at the company is about a year.

Pros

- A place for new graduates with no expectation on salary - Work-life balance - Some great smart coworkers

Cons

- Low Salary - No HR. There is no one to confide in. - Leadership is unprofessional and partly authoritarian. Employees don't feel they are respected. Poor company planning led to a big layoff which was not transparently communicated to the employees until they were let go suddenly. - Company doesn't care about employees or their career plan or their needs. - High turnover. People will stay 1- 2 years.

Happy to hear the work/life balance is good. The majority of our staff have been here over 5 years, we do occasionally have newer team members, and for whatever reason they decide to leave our company. Not all jobs are the perfect fit for all people. We are a smaller company, and do take HR matters seriously, if there was an issue please reach out directly to us.
