Pros

- Nice office location - Close to latest tech trends - Beer o'clock - Supportive culture amongst colleagues - Only 2 days required in the office - Annual bonus

Cons

Unbecoming corporate culture for such a small company Uncompetitive employee benefits (they were improving on this though) Business was moreso retailer driven rather than customer driven - limiting growth and impacts the work making it more tedious and repetitive. Lack of support from Management: - you may be walking on eggshells - some were occasionally rude and bullying - saying the right thing in the wrong way will have repercussions - often an isolation between business and tech leading to wrong technical direction Not enough employee engagement when it comes to long term product ideas that could've been a motivating driving force - i.e: that feeling that what we do benefits the customer and makes it worth it.

Hello there. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience. All feedback is welcome and really helpful. The feedback around it being a corporate culture is super insightful. As you know we are not a highly policy driven business and we have lots of 'principles' instead and pride ourselves on not being overly corporate. We'd love to hear what you mean in more detail? There are some other parts of your review that we'd love to talk about too. If you feel comfortable to share, please pop us an email on peopleteam@gocity.com or you can chat to us via Face Up if you would prefer to remain anonymous. We hear you on the communication piece and we hope our bi-weekly stand ups and sprint reviews are going some way to ally this experience. So great to see you acknowledge the benefits evolution that is under way too. We've certainly come a long way in 2021-2022 alone. If other colleagues would like to chat to us about future benefits across the globe, we'd love to hear more.

Pros

People. Interesting Industry. Central location. Flexibility.

Cons

1. Lack of clarity & direction in multiple departments, leading to fear of making the wrong decisions in more ways than you can imagine. 2. Lack of trust to let people do their job (decision by committee is very time consuming) 3. For a small organization, the structure is lean (as you would expect) but there's a lot of red tape.

Pros

The people. That’s it. It is hard to consider anything else a positive.

Cons

CEO that isn’t trusted, makes swift decisions with big consequences and yet he remains in post. People team that once was on its way up but was decimated slowly before I left. One by one they burnt out or left angry and frustrated. The same favourites get lifetime passes for bad behaviour or poor conduct and nothing changes. They keep hiring senior leaders when the real folks on the ground need support. These new leaders often aren’t up to scratch. Nice office but the environment is so toxic that you can feel it. No employee feedback is actually responded to in a meaningful way and there is no visible action. ExCo live on their own planet and are totally out of touch with reality there.
