Cons

A startup that tries to act like they are competitive with the big names in the industry but in reality nobody has ever heard of them in the US.

- No one seemed to know answers to many common customer questions - unrealistic expectations, quota was roughly 3-4x of YOY revenue despite no material changes - no brand recognition in the US

We unfortunately had to go through two rounds of layoffs in 2022 and we want to assure you that those decisions were not made lightly. Because of the hard work of our team over the last few years, we're in a very strong financial position and working on growing our team in a conscientious and thoughtful way. We also want to acknowledge your observation about the gender balance within our company. We understand that our industry has traditionally had a higher representation of men, but looking at the make-up of our teams, 90% of our employees who identify as females are in professional and/or managerial roles and not support (though support roles are extremely vital to the functioning of any company and not to be discounted). We believe that diversity is essential for fostering innovation and creating a more dynamic work environment. Thank you again for your review and your contributions to our company. -Good, hard working people with excellent talent and drive. Culture started out very good. Pay was good and the team was fun early,

Cons

-Changing commission plan for the worse. -Didn't pay on all commissions after the fact. -They support the Canadian team much more than the US team. -Minimal sales support after letting go BDR members. -They screwed over a number of sales people.

Pros

Medical coverage was pretty good as well as the work schedule. Definitely not a micro-managed company. Team was as supportive as they possibly could be. Good base pay.

Cons

Overpromise and under-deliver. Training was virtually non-existent except for a series of odd PowerPoints they haul at you over a 3 day period. Job security does not exist (no matter what they tell you). Not a lot of diversity at all. It’s clear GoSecure is experiencing some growing pains as they seek to grow and become more significant in the US market. It’s a very shaky, risky leap to move into this company. Ultimately it’s clear their processes are failing and they have over-estimated what they deem to be possible. Many people were fired because of “budget cuts”, especially minorities.

Pros

The work can be interesting at times, and there are some really great people that work here; the technical staff are truly some of the best.

Cons

There are many nowadays. At the root of the problems you have leadership who are very disconnected from reality, particularly in the hiring and retention areas, but also in the technology aspect. GoSecure used to offer some of the best salaries in the industry. However, since gaining a CFO who doesn't appear to know what the job entails, our ability to hire and retain staff has tanked. Yes, some of it is due to the pandemic making hiring overall a little more difficult. But a lot of it is due to the fact that a non-technical person, who does not understand the industry and its trends, still believes $50,000/year is enough to hire competent workers and retain people who have been in the same role, and rocking it, for years. The amount of work to do at GoSecure has increased dramatically across most departments, whereas the amount of people to support the work has not increased appropriately. People are terribly burnt out. Every single one of the technical people I have talked to in the past couple of months has indicated they are dissatisfied and considering looking for employment elsewhere. There are other issues but I will not be discussing them here. These are the main ones to be aware of: weak salaries, overtime expected and never compensated, no approval for necessary tools and raises, unequal pay for the same or harder work, little or no training opportunities, and overworked staff.

Pros

Really nice and smart people, I have grown and learned so much over the past three years; lots of changes in the past year, but all of them have made our company more successful.. Very positive outlook, and people here are excited about our future, so all in all great tech company to work for, 100% remote is another huge plus..

Cons

Reorg last year was tough, but we are going in the right direction now..
