I met some nice people. Unfortunately, there are no pros to working with Groeneveld.
Cons
If there is a list of the 50 worst managed companies, Groeneveld would be on it. It was the most toxic, unorganized, mismanaged, and chaotic company that I will ever work for. The lack of support, and unrealistic expectations from upper management was unbearable. Management unfortunately dealt with situations like they were high school (unprofessional & unethical). They ran about 50% of their warehouse team on temp employees which made it next to impossible to build a robust team. They failed and neglected to understand that. There was also a very high turnover rate amongst the technicians, warehouse, and office staff employed across North America. Ex. I believe there was at least 5 different receptionists in the year and a half I was there. Most employees that came to Groeneveld from well rounded companies wanted to leave immediately after starting. Groeneveld's ERP system (Baan) was incredibly outdated and no one was properly trained on how to use it. Needless to say, their training manuals were outdated. Our transportation reps confirmed that Groeneveld was 20 years behind in terms of technology in comparison to other companies that had similar freight volumes in the area. Improved tools, resources, training, and support are required at Groeneveld.
