Pros

Some good people (minority though). I wrote everything in this post and still could not think of another positive thing to say about the company.

Cons

No training, no proegression, long working hours, no appreciation from senior management on the work you do (sometimes no appreciation from clients either), racist and sexist environment, dreadful company culture. If someone is not leaving in your team this quarter, then there will be someone leaving in the team sitting next to you. Constantly understaffed. No team spirit. Salary is not the greatest, and increases are tiny.

Pros

Colleagues generally stick together. Some nice people. The pension scheme is really rather good. Good variety of experience can be gained. Not a lot else to say.

Cons

Management is awful. Have dealt with some disgustingly unprofessional people. Aon is way ahead in many areas and GC will never catch up. A lot of employees are of a low standard. Ambition is pointless at GC. Everyone is a clock-watcher. No good training. Pay is way below the market. Someone is always leaving - they cannot keep their employees. Unbelievable levels of corporate politics. Almost everyone in my team is looking for a new job!

Pros

Good Brand, Global Reach, Profitable, Good Analytics, Sister Company to Marsh where leverage is possible.

Cons

London Management are dislocated from the business Politics rules above all common sense Poor pay reviews once on board Poor bonus system as bonus pot is used to buy in new employees so existing employees bonuses always reduce year on year No technical training No clear succession planning No centralised Analytics or Actuarial centre so replication of staff in each office which drives costs high No acceptance of ideas and change strategies (this is deemed trouble making) Too little control on costs as lots of wasted money in T&E domain
