EVERYTHING is an emergency that needs to get done immediately. Poor guidance and lack of direction from upper leadership which nobody can align themselves with. Poor prioritization on projects. Budgets are being axed left and right. Headcount is having to be justified to retain the position as people separate. New CIO keeps bringing in people he knows personally who report directly to him while headcount’s are being taken from everyone. Always this cryptic and vague communication that nobody can get any valuable information to align teams with. Everyone is in constant fear that they will be fired with zero notice. Very siloed IT departments who do not communicate well with the others. Poor incident resolution times from corporate and central IT. Most IT employees are performing 2-3 jobs and underpaid leading to rapid burnout and high turnover rates. Politics are incrementally and increasingly getting worse. A fraud and very unfair system for annual employee assessments in the IT Org. Decisions are made for who gets what rating at a managers golf outing in Dallas before the employee can even submit their self assessment. Middle management are too busy fighting to justify their own jobs and headcount to actually be an effective manager. A OneIT vision that was going surprisingly well until the new CIO, Ramon came onboard then it was thrown through the window without a second thought. Projects are always a complete disaster due to a lack of resources and lack of vision. Everything is such a slow process yet is expected to be done immediately. Travel budgets are being axed resulting in middle management requesting that employees use their own resources to travel for work to help free up funds. Higher IT leadership are such rotten individuals who truly have no respect for staff reporting to them. It has been a good run but it will only get worse until the new CIO and his personally appointed employees separate and move on to destroy an IT organization at another company. Morale within IT is at an all time low. Zero room for career growth. I am exhausted and burnt out and I feel terrible because there is nothing I can do for my team who I know feels the same way.
