Pros

There are very little pros. During the inteview process, they offer you the world. And they treat you like a human being when you first come aboard.

Cons

As others have already stated, no bonuses. Also the owner has a real attitude problem. You can even see it in his responses on these reviews. He truly believes he's better than everyone else. Little does he know, they have a very bad reputation in New Smyrna Beach. No benefits. No respect for employees. Lots of threats, lots of accusations. If you stay extra to finish your work (because they are understaffed), they never want to pay you overtime and won't even let you offset time by coming in late or leaving early because everything must be "preplanned". They owe a lot of people a lot of overtime pay! The owners love talking about others. Just not a good place to work, very very toxic. I took a paycut to get out of there!

Pros

It was close to my house and convenient, 2 weeks later I knew they lied to me, I bet they still don't have a 401k plan

Cons

Owners are extreme micro-managers, they truly believe they're are famous!

HIG Insurance Response

As a successful company, we are highly structured and manage by metrics and analytics both on an individual and company. Also, all employees hired are clearly aware of HIG's 401k plus each year all employees are notifed by HR. 401K retirement plans are highly regulated and our plan allows you to participate once you have one year of service. It is our goal to produce quality work for our clients but some new employees come to us where quality may not be a primary goal. In addition, organization skills and time management skills are two key factors to succeed with HIG. Lastly, dignity is an internal characteristic so if you have dignity no one can demish it. Also, we have long term employees and several with service over a decade. As I recall one definition of Famous is knowing a large universe of people. We have been in business a long time plus we are involved in charity work, our daughter is Miss Florida pre teen, we sponsor a lot of events, I have served in the Marine Corp and have a following, I serve on boards and also serve on an economic development board, etc. Wasn't aware that this makes one famous. We wish you the very best in your future.
