Pros

Most of the department managers are nice and flexible. At my location, the customers are very good.

Cons

One of the ways they like to say money is terrible understaffing and it gets very busy and you will be overworked. The work they expect you to do does not correlate with the minimum wage pay. Raises are based on hours worked, don't expect rewards for working harder than the others. They basically don't train their employees unless required by law so don't expect to know what you're doing, and expect to see stupid mistakes made by undertrained employees. They cut corners sometimes to make things look better for the customers without spending extra money. Bad company ethics.

Pros

Lots to do, lots of great customers.

Cons

There is no training program in place as to what one will be doing, or how it is expected to be done. They basically throw you to the wolves, and you either learn as you go, or you get eaten alive, as the saying goes.

Nightmare managers ruin an otherwise pleasant grocery store.

Pros

Best grocery store in the area to shop at - like a more affordable, easier-to-navigate Whole Foods.

Cons

- Some managers treat you like garbage. I am a very hard worker and a friendly, quiet, person. I have NEVER in my life been accused of having a bad attitude or of being sloppy at my job, and I was told by my boss that I was guilty of both of these things, enough that she fired me without any prior warning. - You will not be trained on several key tasks, including using hazardous equipment, opening/closing, etc. - You start with a 3-month evaluation period that is not clearly explained when you are hired. (Unless my former boss made that up so that she had a reason to fire me.)
