Pros

There are some really bright people working there; however, there are bad apples in other silos that will throw you under the bus any chance they get. Watch yourself, co-workers are not your friends.

Cons

No work/life balance. The job description sounds like a dream, until you read the company handbook and realize that you’ve been lied to. The expectation is that you are available during the core work hours of 9am to 6pm PST. If you live on the east coast, you’re expected to be available at all hours. They don’t tell you this, they just expect it. Travel was advertised as 10%, expectation was upwards of 50%. I get it, they are relatively new to the US market, but Chinese work culture expects you to give up your life outside of work to make things happen. No one wants to work more than 40 hours if they aren’t getting paid for it. Management has their hands full so they don’t listen when you ask for help. Certain customers are higher priority. They force UAT on customers when the robots don’t even function properly. Your team relies on SME’s in China to fix problems that could be prevented, and even the SME’s don’t know how to fix the issues half the time. Endless frustration. The product is not safe. LiDAR sensors are useless, they are turned off half the time. Robots will collide with each other or hit racks. They need to iron out the product before they go shoving installations down whoever’s throat is willing to drop the coin. They purposely are underbidding the competition to try and saturate the market. I foresee some unhappy customers in the long run.

Pros

Pros: Hai Robotics is at the forefront of innovation with its product offerings. The HaiPick System 3 stands out for its advanced capabilities, and the HaiPort-powered workstation reflects the company’s drive to create impactful solutions. These technologies show great promise and demonstrate the company's potential in the robotics space.

Cons

Cons: System Performance Challenges: The reliability of the system needs improvement across both hardware and software. During my experience, some hardware components required frequent maintenance, which disrupted operations. On the software side, occasional glitches and delays created inefficiencies and frustration for both internal teams and customers. Demanding Work Culture: The work-life balance leaves much to be desired. Engineers are expected to work long hours on-site, often exceeding what is sustainable, which can lead to burnout. Additionally, collaboration with overseas headquarters often requires late-night communication, adding further strain to employees. A more structured and sustainable approach to scheduling and support could improve the overall working environment. Client Relations: At times, systems were not fully optimized when presented to clients, leading to challenges during critical phases like user acceptance testing. A stronger emphasis on ensuring readiness before client handovers could enhance trust and customer satisfaction. Employee Development: There is limited focus on providing employees with growth opportunities or professional development. Offering access to training programs, career planning, and skill-building resources could significantly enhance morale and retention.

Pros

- Good product and exposure - SG team was collaborative and hardworking excluding management (top 4)

Cons

- The people who made the decision weren't experienced themselves. worst part was that they were stubborn thinking they were right instead of collaborating to find a solution as a team. - How can this be an innovative technology company if internally they do not even want to share the blueprint to help improve the engineering process? It also made us look unprofessional in front of customers - You cannot be an international company if you are only focused on having everything in the mainland language. This has to be understood across the company. The SG office was established about a year ago. Within that year, 10 staff left. What do you think?
