Pros
Halow project was, and remains to be, a terrible place to work, where management instills a culture of fear, and hates challenge. During my time there, I never had a 121 with my manager, who would often ignore me on lunch breaks. During my interview, I was asked by a trustee if I "believed in working from home", when I said I thought it was important to be flexible to encourage accessibility, he claimed he didn't agree (may I mention here that he, himself, is a millionaire). Although they deliver excellent work and support to young people, their staff feel undervalued. The Trustee board felt self-interest ed at best, and completely ignorant as to how you run a charitable institution. I heard comments around the RNLI being "woke" (used derogatorily) because they have taken a stance to save ALL lives at sea. Finally, there have been around 4 Heads of Fundraising in the last 18 months for a reason. The lack of transparency around governance and financials was appalling.
Please do not work here.
Cons
Terrible culture, poor governance, awful trustees.
