Good pay but expect to work hard/long for it, family life WILL be affected!

Pros

Pay is good, working with a wide range of customers and exposure to their infrastructures and technical teams.

Cons

Very poor management, focus entirely on revenue and balance sheet. Zero progression opportunities and certainly in the last few years, poor bonus realization and salary increase. Certain areas of the business are neglected in terms of software development and staff morale/management even though they are very profitable business units. Expectation is that your free time is the property of the company, weekends, evenings etc need to be blocked out well in advance to avoid being booked to work at those times. Even then you may be asked to change plans to meet the needs of the company. Reality is when running with the bare minimum of staff, this will not change quickly if at all. Ever present fear of being made redundant at a moment's notice!

Management team promotes a culture of fear and intimidation

Pros

Pay is good. Many great people working at the company.

Cons

A culture of bosses shouting and humiliating employees in front of colleagues. They expect 24/7 availability and have no concept of work/life balance. Very high staff turnover. A long history of under investment in some areas have meant that competitors are eating up their traditional market. In other areas they are spending on R&D, but breaking into new accounts is always harder than selling to existing customers.

Pros

Good place to work, good people and reasonable work-life balance

Cons

As the company grew key leadership was filled with external people rather than developing talent from within and keeping the culture that made them successful alive.
