Pros

4.5 day working week as 1pm finish on a Friday Potentially interesting industry if given the chance to thrive

Cons

Office manager speaks to staff terribly and has a reputation for being a liar so if you end up here always follow it up with an email so you’ve got a paper trail to cover yourself. She also Called a member of the warehouse stupid infront of the office which everyone was shocked by. Declines holiday for no reason when nobody else is off and doesn’t give any training or targets at all just expects you to do the job. Constantly trying to trip you up too and speaks and looks down on everyone Staff can’t work at home only the general manager in the UK who works permanently from home, office manager works from home when ill but staff aren’t allowed to unless it’s for FREE out of hours then it’s completely fine. You have to take your laptop home every night and are expected to give 15% (6hours) of your time for free each week which you DONT get back or paid extra for. No breaks apart from one 30 min lunch break which isn’t alot in a 9 hour day. Zero diversity Office manager is very clicky with the women in the office but treats the men unfairly

Pros

Heatcon generally has a good work-life balance and a family-oriented culture. They offer good benefits. They serve a small but growing market, and take pride in their products.

Cons

Upper mobility is limited (it's family-owned). Occasional up & down cycles can result in layoffs--that last happened after the '08 crash, so a lot of companies were affected.

As a small business (70-80 employees in 2017), Heatcon offers an entrepreneurial environment where individual contributions are still recognized, and company growth continues to offer new opportunities. As in any industry, there are up and down cycles. According to industry forecasts, the aerospace composite market is expected to exceed 8% annual growth for at least the next several years. The boats are no longer being refurbished at the business location. Thank you for the feedback.

Pros

The location is great. Company has bonuses but has declined over the years. Not micro managed. Monday through Friday schedule. Employees are respectful. Able to gain certification.

Cons

Below pay rate. Management show lack of consideration to employees. Human resource doesn't respond in a timely manor. Lack of organization. Rather spend company money desserts than giving back to employees. Management shows favoritism to certain employees. Makes employees do miscellaneous work that doesn't pertain to job duties. Safety hazards is ignored. Management using a lot of profanity and can be very uncomfortable. A lot of job duty short cuts performed my upper management. Family owned...owners don't give too much advancement. Will make a lot of promises but will never fulfill them. Made numerous errors on pay checks and not informed employees. Don't give reviews on timely manner. There is a lack of structure throughout the company. The parking is very limited.

Heatcon offers a very competitive compensation and benefits package and all full time employees are eligible to participate in our discretionary bonus program. We are fortunate with our growth and profitability, to have been able to offer bonuses consistently to employees for the last several years. During the last year, a professional Human Resources team has been retained to improve the quality of service to employees and strengthen our management team. We encourage direct employee feedback at all levels with our open door policy, and take workplace complaints seriously. Since the time of this review, Heatcon has put a very strong executive management team in place to run day to day operations in the business, and has relocated to a new facility. We have invested heavily in setting up the new facility to meet aerospace expectations, and create a safe workplace for all of our employees.
