Pros

It’s a union shop so pay and benefits are great, but you’ll find that at union company, so go someplace else that actually cares about you

Cons

99% of the people here were great but the remaining 1% are toxic. Sexual harassment is not tolerated in any workplace but at Hooper according to management you need to “deal with it” because there’s no changing Hooper’s culture. Reporting bad behavior to management will quickly put your job as risk.

Pros

• Some coworkers are supportive and hardworking. • Benefits and pay are competitive for the industry.

Cons

• Company culture is a complete “boys club” — if you’re not part of it, you’re on the outside. • Leadership is all men, and they consistently talk down to women and do not value their contributions. • No repercussions for leadership that was abusive and obscene — behavior that would never be tolerated in a healthy workplace is ignored here. • Leadership does not take accountability for decisions or mistakes. • Constructive feedback is not welcome; disagreeing or challenging leadership can quickly put your job at risk. • Leadership are also mostly shareholders, so their focus is on protecting themselves and maximizing their own interests — not on employees or long-term sustainability. • Do not work here if you are a go-getter, want career growth, or are trying to make improvements — those qualities are not supported or valued. • Lack of transparency in decision-making and little effort to create an inclusive workplace.
